Dermal Fillers

The skin begins to lose hyaluronic acid, collagen, elasticity, and subcutaneous fat as we age – this can make us feel less confident in our appearance as we show our face more than other parts of our body. As the skin sags and droops due to facial muscle movements and gravity, we look for ways that can help us reverse the signs of ageing thus making us feel more confident in ourselves.

Dermal fillers were created and designed to help smooth fine lines, fill in wrinkle spaces, and enhance our look to make us look fuller and more alive. The best thing about dermal fillers is that the result is instant, so you can immediately look and feel your best.

The two most popular fillers used in dermal fillers treatment is hyaluronic acid (Juvederm & Teosyal), these two are popular due to their high safety profile and effectiveness. It is also a biocompatible and biodegradable product – this means that the dermal fillers are not harmful to the body and is broken down and removed from the body naturally.

The Dermal Fillers System

The dermal fillers treatment is a popular remedy for facial lines or unappealing skin folds. It is commonly used for chin, nose, lips, and cheek enhancement. It is also injected to add volume to breasts and buttocks.

The hyaluronic acid fillers used in our dermal fillers treatment comes in the form of a sterile gel that is produced in a laboratory. These modern fillers are non-permanent and have a more lasting effect. Since they are from non-animal derivatives, no allergy testing is required before the dermal fillers treatment.

FAQs

1. Will it hurt?

You should expect mild irritation and pain around the bruises and the puncture marks from the injections. The pain should subside over a few days.

2. What is the best way to assist the healing?

The best remedy for the pain is not to aggravate the facial muscles. Try not to have vigorous facial movements as the muscles will be weak and the ache will further increase the pain. The best healing condition is to wash with a soft, lukewarm cloth to keep your skin moisturised and fresh while aiding the healing process. Even without such measures, the longest you will experience pain for is up to a week or two weeks in rare cases.

3. Any other precaution?

The patient can continue with normal routine activities, but do note the following:

  • Do not touch nor use makeup on the injected area for at least 1 day
  • Do not perform facial massages or treatments on injected area for 2 weeks
  • Avoid direct sunlight or extremely cold conditions in the 2 weeks after injection
  • Avoid hot showers for at least 48 hours after treatment
